Piers - Are we building a boat ramp?

No, we are not building anything to do with boats. Part of the support and foundation is drilling holes and filling them with concrete. These holes with concrete are re-enforced by rebar which helps to create a powerful support system. This has been the primary focus on the building site this week.

We have also set up a Prayer Trailer on the site. The description used for the trailer is The Intensive Prayer Unit. This is there for all of us to go on-site and get a closer look at what is happening as well as commit the building project to God and pray for the future ministry impact. There will be more information on how to use the Prayer Trailer this weekend.

You can now see what is happening on the building project by going to the website http://www.missionhills.org/ and clicking the banner on the home page. There is also a slide show of all our progress to date.

The Hole Gets Bigger

I was given a tour of the construction site earlier this week. The hole you can see from the road is much bigger when you stand on the rim of it looking down. As I stood looking at this the reality of moving forward was encouraging and exciting.

The latest progress is very uplifting - here it is:

The drain system has been put into place - this is the aqua-green pipe sticking up in this picture

The soil compaction and construction continues to move along - there is a layer of crushed concrete which will help with the drainage

They are beginning to build the cages for the piers. They will begin digging the piers next week.

Please continue to pray for all the details. Also, stay tuned for some upcoming ways that you can view the progress and participate on-site. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the office.
